The Hidden Side of Success: The Entitlement Factor

Success is the ultimate goal for many of us. It's what we work tirelessly to achieve, but rarely do we discuss the flip side of this coveted coin. Success is a double-edged sword that can bring both admiration and unforeseen challenges.

One of the less-talked-about aspects of success is the unwarranted and often unhealthy attention it can attract from others. As you climb the ladder of success, you might find that people who once ignored you or didn't believe in your potential suddenly want to be a part of your journey. While it's natural for others to be drawn to success, it can be challenging to discern who genuinely supports you and who is merely seeking to bask in your accomplishments.

Success often comes as a result of your determination and resilience. It's a testament to your hard work and grit. However, it's crucial to remain vigilant because, if you're not careful, success can make you complacent and soften your edge. The same drive that got you to where you are can wane if you become too comfortable with your achievements. It's essential to remember that success is not a one-time destination but an ongoing journey that requires constant effort and growth.

Moreover, success can have a profound impact on your mindset. It can breed a sense of entitlement, not only in the eyes of others but within yourself as well. You may start to believe that every action you take should yield immediate and effortless success. This unrealistic expectation can lead to frustration and disappointment when faced with setbacks and challenges along the way.

In conclusion, while success is undoubtedly a desirable outcome, it's essential to recognize and address the potential downsides it brings. Be mindful of the attention, both positive and negative, that success can attract from others. Stay committed to your values and continue to work hard, even when success seems assured. And most importantly, guard against the sense of entitlement that can creep into your mindset, remembering that success is a journey, not a destination.

Absolutely! My new aim is now " significance" outside of success. When we aim for success it can cause alot of anxiety versus reaching for something that impacts for the season it is meant to impact. To all things there's a season . When we understand this " success longevity" may not be the target . Significance will outlive success as we know it fluctuates. With grace, we leave room for the next.

Peace & blessings
